When Apperian sends you native App Catalog application files, you need to add them to the Admin Portal. You need only add the App Catalog apps for the platforms you wish to support. For a list of specific devices and operating system versions, see Supported Platforms. Once you add the App Catalog apps to the Admin Portal, they are listed at the top of the Applications page along with the web App Catalog.

If you work with Apperian to customize the App Catalog with corporate branding, then Apperian adds the App Catalog app to the Admin Portal for you during the branding process. You will not need to complete this procedure to add the App Catalog app, but you may need to sign it after it has been added by Apperian. See Next Steps for instructions on what to do after the App Catalog is added to the Admin Portal.

Before You Begin

Contact Customer Support to request the application files for the App Catalogs you want to support.

On This Page

When you add a new user to your organization, Apperian sends an invitation email that includes a link for downloading the App Catalog. The link downloads the App Catalog appropriate for the user's device. For example, if a user views the invitation email on an iOS device and you have a native iOS App Catalog for your organization, then the link downloads the iOS App Catalog. If there is no native App Catalog available for the user's device, the link points to the web App Catalog.

This field defaults to the name embedded in the application file (App Catalog).

If you modify this field, it changes the name as it appears on the Applications page in the Admin Portal and the Updates page of the user's App Catalog (when the App Catalog is updated). It does not change the name that appears for the app on the user's device. On the device, the app always appears with the name embedded in the application file.

    Version Number

This field defaults to the app version listed in the application file.

    Version Notes

Enter notes associated with the version.

Next Steps

There are no additional steps required after adding the Windows 8 App Catalog; it is ready to distribute to your users.

With iOS and Android App Catalogs, perform these two procedures before distributing the catalogs to your users:

Sign the App Catalog with Your Organization's Credentials

Before you can distribute the iOS and Android App Catalogs to your users, they must be signed with your organization's credentials.

The native apps you distribute through the App Catalog should be signed with the same distribution certificate used to sign the corresponding App Catalog.

For more information about signing, and the methods available to you, see About Signing.

Feature Apps on the Popular Apps Page

Before you deploy the iOS and Android App Catalogs to your users, select which applications you want to feature on the Popular apps page of the catalog. For instructions, see Select Featured Apps for the App Catalog. The Featured Apps section is not yet supported with the Windows 8/10 App Catalog.
