  • Apperian Authentication: This authentication method is built into Apperian, and it is the default method configured for an organization. With Apperian Authentication, users must log in with the user IDs and passwords configured in Apperian. User IDs can be added to Apperian through the Admin Portal,  or added using the Apperian Users API, or added by user self-registration.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): SSO lets you leverage industry standards and your existing enterprise infrastructure to authenticate and authorize Apperian users. Apperian supports SSO through either SAML or OAuth protocol. For more information, see Single Sign-On with Apperian. If you want to use SSO with Apperian, contact Customer Support.
